Charlotte creative studio Social Design House wins a Gold ADDY at the 2025 American Advertising Awards for the Boxcar Apartments website, a custom Webflow build with Rent Cafe API integrations and boutique multifamily branding.

Social Design House (SDH) took home a Gold ADDY at the 2025 American Advertising Awards, hosted by AAF Charlotte at Lenny Boy Brewing on February 26, 2026. The award recognized the studio's custom website for Boxcar Apartments, a boutique luxury apartment community in Spartanburg, SC. The heavy hors d'oeuvres were on point, and the lavender kombucha from Lenny Boy is on a different level. But the real highlight was getting to celebrate the work our team has been producing together.

The Boxcar project is the latest in a 10-plus year working relationship between SDH and MyNiche Apartments, the multifamily division of Lat Purser & Associates (LPA). MyNiche President Adam Purser and his team have partnered with SDH across more than ten projects over the years, and LPA is a longstanding client in its own right. When you've been working with someone that long, there's a shorthand. There's trust. And the work gets better because of it. Boxcar is proof of that.
Kayla Dugger, Creative Director at MyNiche, designed a bold brand identity around the property's "Outlaw Luxury" concept. Super fun visual world. Our team took what Kayla built and expanded it into a fully custom digital experience on Webflow, with custom animations, distinctive typography, and visual assets that carry the brand's personality from the homepage through every interior page. Getting to stretch a great brand into digital is one of the best parts of what we do.

Under the hood, the site is tightly integrated with RentCafe via the Yardi API. Floor plan availability, appointment scheduling, and lead generation all feed directly into the leasing team's existing tools. No extra layer of work. No separate system to manage. The leasing team gets a site that looks and feels completely custom while running on the same backend they use every day. That backend piece is just as important as the design, and we put a lot of care into making sure it all works together.

In multifamily, there's no shortage of templated, one-size-fits-all website platforms. Boxcar proves you can have a truly differentiated brand online and still maintain the integrations a leasing team depends on. SDH has built multiple multifamily projects on Webflow with pre-built RentCafe integrations and continues to refine that process with each new property.
We maintain an ongoing relationship with the Boxcar team, handling advanced feature updates while MyNiche manages day-to-day content through Webflow's CMS.
Beyond our win, the night was full of great work from across Charlotte. Our friends at Up & Something, led by Todd Turner, were in the mix. Our founder Ben Visser and Todd go back to Winthrop University, and Todd has recently launched his own studio with a focus on out-of-home. Another one of our clients, Wheelhouse, had the room reaching for tissues with their Burn Bootcamp spot. They picked up a few awards and we're always impressed with what that team puts out.
Nights like these remind you why you got into this work.

The Gold ADDY is the first tier of a three-tier national competition through the American Advertising Federation. Charlotte winners advance to District 3 (Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina), with district winners moving on to the national stage.
