Support

For over 50 years, SCAC has worked to build a thriving arts environment that benefits all South Carolinians. SDH reimagined the organization’s brand and website to help extend their mission and make the arts more accessible statewide.

Challenge

Early in 2023, our friends at South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC) approached us about an update to their brand. Although it had served them well for nearly a decade, it lacked the energy of the arts and all-encompassing work that SCAC does across the state. Not only did the brand need a refresh but their online presence needed to reflect this new energy.

Solution

Art at its core seeks to engage, excite and inspire. Our goal was to bring to life a brand that did the same for every artist and creative in South Carolina. Working closely with a passionate team of creative thinkers at SCAC we were able to create a flexible, bold and confident identity that captured the excitement their team was looking for.

The brand was only the beginning. Once that was defined our next goal was to reimagine southcarolinaarts.com to make it a more enjoyable and easier to use experience for all. We worked closely with the grants team to reimagine the grant discovery process to make it easier for artists and educators to find funding through the organization. Along with the grants our team completely revamped the site architecture and navigation. Out with the old. In with the new!

The SDH team did a terrific job developing a brand with elements that tell our story while demanding a bold mix of interchangeable colors and contemporary typefaces. Just like our team, this identity is flexible, and the elements work well together.
